About Me

My name is Anusha Atukorala. I was born in Sri Lanka many light years ago, well, shall I say... a long time before this digital age. In spite of that fact, I’m delighted that I am alive and kicking in the 21st century world – where websites abound, where communication is dead easy, where I can type my letters and articles and books rather than write them, where a letter to family and friends is only a simple click away! In January 1999, my husband and I and our then 8 year old son migrated to Australia. We are now blessed to have two beautiful islands we call home.

I stand at exactly 5 feet ½ an inch tall. To compensate for my lack of inches, I married a man who is 6 feet tall! I love the finer things of life, including good food and especially chocolates! I am passionate about many things; life, love, family, friendship, music, books, the beauty of creation, writing and much more! My greatest passion is Jesus and the difference He has made in my life.

I enjoy cold weather and blue skies, sunshine and the sound of rain. I love walking under the stars with my husband, watching a moonrise or two; tracing constellations together. Some of my frequent haunts are my garden swing, the chair in front of my computer and also our beautiful neighbourhood, where I enjoy many enchanting views of green mountains and swirling blue seas. It can't get better than that! Something unusual about me is that I've done many an interesting tongue trick since I was little…… I can even touch the tip of my nose with my tongue. Did that surprise you?

One of the most important facets of my life is that I call myself a Writer! YES! Why do I write? Because I feel compelled to. When I write, I know I am doing what I am born to do. And that's not all. I write because I have a message to share. The message is simple.

Jesus loves me. Jesus loves you. His love is something eternal. His love never ever fails.

The love of Jesus love is my song. His love is my anchor. His love is my guiding star. His love keeps me afloat when the world is soggy and the rainclouds form. His love has been my hiding place. His love is real. I have experienced it over many many years. And it only gets better with time.

My Family

My husband Shan is tall, dark and handsome, a man with 3 Uni degrees under his belt and a 4th on the way. I have yet to obtain even 1 degree myself! A slight imbalance there! Shan works (very hard) as a (brilliant) Software Engineer. Yes, I am very glad I married an Engineer - he fixes most things in our house and does so in style – even perhaps his wife on occasion?

Our son Asela is at Uni, studying to be a computer man himself. Asela is a mature, good looking 21 year old lad, tall like his Dad, enjoys learning the keyboard, has a keen sense of humour, has many interests and has made the old maternal and paternal eyes glisten with pride. Yes, Asela is a great kid.

The last member of our family is our little pet Giraffe, Raffy, Raf for short. He joins in on all the family fun and is quite the best pet to have around. Raffy keeps us all entertained and also keeps us young at heart!
