Dear Anu, now that you have mentioned it, so many of us have turned 40 this year!! On the 16th Feb, 1974, my dear friend Lilani Jayasuriya & I publicly declared ourselves as followers of our Saviour. Ever since I have grown from strength to strength basking in the love and faithfulness of our only God.
There is only praises on my lips for my God, and may I be a pleasing aroma to Him.
Congratulations to you on reaching 40, a Bibilical number.

Yes I remembered it was your 40th year too when I was writing the blog - and it's Sal's too. I find it's another friend's 30th next week and Akka's 50th! So encouraging to hear. Good to know the date you declared Jesus publicly on the 16th Feb 1974. That's awesome.

Our God is a mighty amazing God isn't He? I know you will be a pleasing aroma to Him as you live for Him. Thank you Chits - many congratulations to you too. Yes, I too was thinking of the significance of 40. There are many instances of either 40 days or 40 years mentioned in the Bible.

My precious celebrity friend at 40

... and here I thought - did I miss out on wishing her? Didn't I wish her just recently? O sis it truly is a day of rejoicing when Jesus came into your heart. You have been an awesome testimony to all of us - especially during our years at YFC.

Thank you for your life giving words too. Did you notice that there were TWO pics of Shan? One when we first met in 1980 and one taken recently? I first met him when we were co leaders at camp - and I thought he was a very handsome guy the moment I clapped my eyes on him! :) Didn't realise I would marry him then but I liked him on the spot - his gentle quiet ways and his charming smile.
